Meet your Trustees!

The Violet Township Board of Trustees consists of a board of three elected Trustees. Each are elected to their positions for a term of four years on staggering cycles, and until their respective successors are duly elected and qualified. The term of the Trustees begins on the first day of January after the election. The theory of staggering terms of office is for the purpose of having at least two experienced township officials in offices at all times. The Trustees are elected to administer the affairs of township government as the representatives of the people and they hold their offices in trust for the people of the Township. The Trustees welcome residents to attend governmental meetings held on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. to keep residents abreast of current issues or to express concerns in an open, positive atmosphere.

Terry retired from the Nationwide Insurance Company, where he spent many years in the security and investigations units. Terry maintains his status as a Peace Office with the Harrisburg Police Department. Terry’s family farm produces hay, straw, pumpkins and gourds that are sold locally and through several area Farmers Markets., and at the long time favorite, Sams Pumpkin Patch.

His commitment to keeping Violet Township a desired destination for families and businesses is front and center at all times. His "do as much as you can with what you have" attitude is a strong influence on the good fiscal health of the township. His open door policy is important to him. “I love this community and want to make sure residents get the services they are entitled to.” Harry Myers, Jr.

Harry’s family moved in to the Violet Township area in 1956 when Harry #3 was seven years old. Harry is an avid football fan, and was a team member of the very first football game played by the Pickerington School District. His sons also played the game, and several grandchildren are waiting in the wings. Harry volunteers his time and efforts to the football program at Pickerington Local Schools.

Although Harry is a dedicated and active Trustee, his first passion is his family, including the love of his life Keltah, their children, and his grandchildren. Both Harry and Keltah are graduates of the Pickerington Local School district as well as their children. When he has some free time, Harry loves spending it with his family outdoors, or at a good fishing hole.

Providing services such as snow removal, Fire and EMS services, safe zoning and building practices, and development opportunities to all of the residents of Violet Township stays high on his priority list. But, assisting residents in even the smallest of ways is why Harry keeps his phone number, (614)837-8789, published and at the ready for any concerns or assistance that can he can address or review.

  • I have had the pleasure of living in Violet Township for most of my life.  I grew up, graduated, taught, coached, and raised my family here.  My wife Lisa is a very successful local Realtor dedicated to serving our community.  Lisa and all three of our sons have attended Pickerington Local Schools. Being personally and professionally vested in the township, I remain committed to listen to what others have to say and employ "best practices" to assure that we remain committed to make changes to always be the best possible Violet Township.

I believe working collaboratively with other local governmental entities is a logical benefit to both the incorporated and unincorporated areas of our community.  I remain committed to fiscal responsibility, economic development, an open door policy, and strong regional partnerships.

I take the responsibilities bestowed upon me by the voting public of Violet Township very seriously, and am humbled by the public’s trust and support.   I assure you that our Violet Township staff is dedicated to providing exceptional service to our growing community without losing touch with the people that make it great! Feel free to contact me if you ever have any concerns about how your township is serving your family, your neighborhood, or our community.
