VIOLET TOWNSHIP ZONING COMMISSION

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING


The Violet Township Zoning Commission will continue the public hearing for Case Number ZAMD-24-1 on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Violet Township Administrative Offices located at 10190 Blacklick Eastern Road, Pickerington, Ohio 43147 in order to consider a motion adopted by the Violet Township Zoning Commission which is proposed as an amendment to the Violet Township Zoning Resolution.  

This proposed amendment is designated as Violet Township Zoning Amendment Case Number ZAMD-24-1 and would, if adopted as proposed, amend the Violet Township Zoning Resolution as generally summarized: conditionally permit certain accessory buildings and uses in conjunction with an existing neighborhood or community in certain residential districts; provide regulations for fences outside subdivisions on lots greater than one acre; change the REC-1 District to a Planned Recreation District with development standards and application submittal requirements; limit the floor area of a store, shop or enterprise in the C-1 District to 3,000 sq. ft. and include additional types of permitted uses; to include hospitals, health clinics, nursing and retirement homes, assisted living or special care facilities as permitted uses in the C-2 District; provide requirements, standards and definitions for portable storage units; and renumber and update various sections.

The text of this proposed amendment is available for examination Mondays through Fridays, excluding legal holidays, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Violet Township Administrative Offices, 10190 Blacklick Eastern Road, Pickerington, Ohio 43147.  The person responsible for giving notice of this public hearing by publication is Kelly Sarko, Violet Township Zoning Inspector.  

After the conclusion of the public hearing, the matter will be submitted to the Violet Township Board of Trustees for its action.
