VIOLET TOWNSHIP ZONING COMMISSION

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Violet Township Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Violet Township Administrative Offices, located at 10190 Blacklick Eastern Road, Pickerington to consider a Motion adopted by the Violet Township Zoning Commission which is proposed as an amendment to the Violet Township Zoning Resolution.  The proposed amendment is designated as Violet Township Zoning Amendment Case No. ZAMD-25-1 and would if adopted, would repeal Section 3N, the Planned Mixed Use Commercial District (PCD), and create a new Section 3N, the Community Gathering Place Overlay District (CGPOD) – which includes subsections establishing the purpose, establishment of the CGPOD area and subareas; minimum tract size; procedure, process, requirements, and contents for an application for Development Plan; review process; permitted and prohibited uses; basis of approval; approval period; process for amendment of an approved Development Plan; architectural design standards and exterior finish materials; minimum development standards including, but not limited to, setbacks, building heights, landscaping and buffering, open spaces, and parking; and provisions for divergences from the applicable standards for the CGPOD; as well as certain definitions. 

The text and map of this proposed amendment are available for examination from Wednesday, May 7, through Tuesday, May 20, 2025, inclusive, Mondays through Fridays, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Violet Township Administrative Offices, 10190 Blacklick Eastern Road, Pickerington. The person responsible for giving notice of this public hearing by publication is Kelly Sarko, Violet Township Zoning Inspector.  

After the conclusion of the public hearing, the matter will be submitted to the Violet Township Board of Trustees for its action.
